If your roll off dumpster will sit on private property, like your driveway or jobsite, you don't have to apply for a permit. But if you plan to keep your bin in the street, you’ll need a Street Occupancy Permit from the city of Boston at least seven days before delivery. When you apply for the permit, describe the scope of your project, including the number and size of your roll off containers. Reach out to our team if you have more questions about permits.
The dumpster rental size you need depends on the type and amount of debris you’re tossing. A small dumpster rental, such as our 10 yard bin, is ideal for DIY home cleanups or getting rid of heavy debris, like concrete. For long-term projects, like a whole-house remodel or large commercial cleanout, our 40 yard dumpster has the space you need. Have a project size in between? Choose our 15, 20 or 30 yard bins for a perfect fit. For more on how our dumpster sizes compare, contact us.
You can toss most types of debris into our dumpsters, but there are some prohibited items. You cannot throw hazardous materials such as pesticides, motor oil, paint, gasoline, tires and railroad ties in our roll off dumpsters. These items raise safety issues at the landfill and can damage your bin, resulting in an extra fee. Need more help figuring out what you can’t toss? Get in touch with our team. We’ll answer your questions.
For safety reasons, we can't drop off your dumpster on a hill. If the slope requires you to use the parking brake in your car, it's too steep for a roll off container. Choose a delivery spot that’s flat, paved and close to your work area. When you rent a dumpster from our team, we'll make an expert placement recommendation.
1. Choose a size and delivery spot. We require 60 feet of space in a straight line and 23 feet of vertical clearance.
2. Prepare for delivery. Remove any vehicles, materials or low-hanging obstacles to ensure we can deliver your dumpster and to avoid a trip fee.
3. Fill up your dumpster. Remember to keep your included weight limit in mind to prevent overage fees.
4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
